麻豆直播 Invites Community to MLK Event Jan. 25
麻豆直播 invites you to join us in
Celebration and Engagement
The life and works of Martin Luther King, Jr. have been celebrated and memorialized at 麻豆直播 since 1991 when Arthur Ashe shared his life experiences in a dynamic and provocative presentation. Subsequent events included insights into Dr. King's life and messages of love and hope with presentations by Maya Angelou, Ben Vereen, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee and Cicely Tyson, to name a few. Participants in other celebrations were challenged to engage in social justice work through the wise counsel of Kweisi Mfume, James Meredith, Rev. Joseph Lowery and Sondra Samuels.
Inspired by the teachings of Yolanda and Bernice King, the celebration began incorporating service work as one of the major activities of the celebration. Rooted in its long tradition of celebration and service, the 2019 Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is framed by the Kwanzaa principle of Collective Work and Responsibility. We hope you enjoy the day.
